Marrakech, Morocco – Athletes, coaches, and athletics enthusiasts from across North Africa and beyond are invited to participate in the inaugural Atlas Hurdles Grand Prix 2027, an exciting international track and field event dedicated exclusively to hurdle disciplines. The competition will take place on 18 October 2027 at the Moulay El Hassan Athletics Stadium in Marrakech.
Organised by the Moroccan Athletics Promotion Association (MAPA) in partnership with regional athletics clubs and sporting institutions, the event aims to promote athletic excellence, youth development, and international sporting exchange.
The competition programme will feature:
- Men’s 110m Hurdles
- Women’s 100m Hurdles
- Men’s and Women’s 400m Hurdles
- U18 Hurdles Development Races
- Mixed Relay Hurdles Exhibition Event
More than 300 athletes representing clubs, schools, universities, and national teams are expected to attend. Spectators will enjoy a full day of world-class athletic performances, family activities, athlete meet-and-greet sessions, and awards ceremonies.
According to Event Director Samir Benjelloun, “The Atlas Hurdles Grand Prix will showcase the growing talent of hurdlers throughout Morocco and provide a competitive platform for athletes seeking to achieve qualifying standards and personal bests.”
The event will begin at 09:00 with preliminary races, followed by finals in the afternoon. Medal ceremonies will conclude the programme at approximately 18:30.
