1. Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, electric shock, and damage to the unit, please adhere to the following safety precautions:

  • Electric Shock Hazard: The Monica 560 V8 includes a control box (transformer) that must be connected to a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet. Never bypass the ground plug.
  • Keep Dry: The control box and power cable must remain dry. Do not place them where they could fall or be pulled into the water. Ensure the connection between the floating cable and the control box is away from pool water and splashing.
  • Water Temperature: Only operate the cleaner in water temperatures between 10°C and 35°C (50°F and 95°F).
  • Supervision: Do not leave the cleaner operating unattended for extended periods, especially if children or pets are present.
  • Handle with Care: Always lift the cleaner by its handle. Do not lift it by its cable or the swivel.
  • Before Servicing: Always switch off the power at the electrical outlet and disconnect the control box before removing the cleaner from the pool or performing any maintenance.
  • Storage: Store the unit indoors in a dry, shaded place away from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures.

  • Remove any large objects (e.g., big branches, toys) from the pool that could clog the cleaner.

Step 2: Assemble the Filter Cartridges

  • Select the appropriate filter cartridges for your cleaning needs:
    • Large-Pore Filters (Blue): For heavy debris like leaves, twigs, and acorns.
    • Fine-Pore Filters (White): For fine debris like sand, silt, and dust.
  • Press the two halves of the chosen filter cartridges together firmly until they click into place.
  • Insert the assembled cartridges into the cleaner’s compartment.

Step 3: Connect the Cable

  • Fully unwind the floating cable and place the control box on a dry, level surface at least 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) from the pool edge.
  • Connect the floating cable to the control box.
  • Plug the control box into a grounded electrical outlet. The indicator light on the control box will turn on.

Step 4: Place in Pool

  • Hold the cleaner by its handle.
  • Slowly lower the unit into the water, entry angle first. Submerge it completely before letting go.
  • Gently place the entire floating cable onto the surface of the water, ensuring it is uncoiled and can move freely.

Step 5: Start Cleaning

  • The Monica 560 V8 will begin its cleaning cycle automatically as soon as it is powered. It will clean for a pre-programmed cycle (typically 2 hours) before shutting off automatically.

5. Cleaning Cycle & Operation

  • Fully Automatic: The 560 V8 uses intelligent software and gyroscopic navigation to systematically cover your pool’s floor, walls, and waterline.
  • Cleaning Pattern: It will move in a random, overlapping pattern to ensure complete coverage.
  • Waterline Cleaning: The unit is equipped with a waterline scrubbing feature. It will climb the wall and pause at the waterline to scrub away scum and dirt.
  • Cycle Completion: After the programmed cycle time (usually 2 hours), the cleaner will stop. The indicator light on the control box may turn off or change color (refer to control box specifics).

6. Maintenance & Cleaning

After Each Use:

  1. Switch Off & Unplug: Turn off the power at the outlet and disconnect the control box.
  2. Lift Out: Lift the cleaner from the pool using its handle.
  3. Empty Debris: Hold the cleaner over a trash can. Press the cartridge release buttons and remove the filter cartridges. Empty the contents.
  4. Rinse: Rinse the filter cartridges and the cleaner’s body with a gentle stream of clean water to remove any clinging debris or dirt.
  5. Inspect Tracks: Check the tracks and brushes for wear or tangled debris (like hair), and clean if necessary.

Periodic Deep Cleaning:

  • Soak the filter cartridges in a filter cleaner solution or a mixture of water and mild dish soap to remove oils and embedded dirt. Rinse thoroughly afterward.
  • Wipe down the floating cable and the body of the cleaner with a damp cloth.

Storage:

  • Ensure the unit is completely dry.
  • Loop the cable loosely without tight coils. Do not wrap it around the control box.
  • Store all components in a cool, dry place.
